This condition occurs when systemic inflammation triggers profound cardiac dysfunction during severe infections. Consequently, clinicians are increasingly exploring adjunctive therapies like Xuebijing (XBJ) to improve patient outcomes. Recent research highlights how XBJ alleviates septic myocardial injury by targeting iron-induced cell death mechanisms.

Therefore, XBJ serves as a multi-target agent capable of tackling inflammation and iron-mediated damage simultaneously.
