Size-selective diffusion MRI, or SSIFT-MRI, is an advanced imaging technique that uses specific diffusion times to filter signals. This allows for better visualization of cellular structures and helps identify clinically significant prostate cancer more accurately than traditional methods.
While biparametric MRI is effective, it often has lower specificity. SSIFT-MRI aims to improve diagnostic performance by providing clearer differentiation between cancerous and non-cancerous tissues, potentially reducing false positives and improving accuracy.
