Modern prosthodontics increasingly relies on digital workflows and advanced implantology, which the original PDI does not fully address. A revised system could simplify the diagnostic process and improve clinical decision-making.
In the context of dental education in India, indices like the PDI are vital for MDS students. These tools provide a structured approach to complex full-mouth rehabilitations. Implementing a more streamlined version could enhance the quality of care in both institutional and private clinical settings across the country.
