Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) presents significant challenges for clinicians in India, where the prevalence reaches nearly 1 in 68 children. While pharmacological options typically focus on comorbid symptoms, physical exercise therapy ASD has emerged as a promising non-pharmacological intervention. A newly published protocol for a scoping review aims to map the existing landscape of systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Moreover, the study will synthesize both quantitative and qualitative data to highlight current research gaps. This approach is vital because it moves beyond individual trials to look at broad trends in physical exercise therapy ASD. Ultimately, the results will guide Indian practitioners in making evidence-based decisions for pediatric and psychiatric care.
In the Indian context, limited access to specialized centers makes home-based or school-based exercise programs essential. By identifying which PET interventions work best, doctors can provide tailored advice to parents. This review protocol represents a critical step toward standardizing non-drug management for ASD. Therefore, pediatricians and neurologists should watch for the full results to integrate these findings into their daily clinical practice.
