Consequently, researchers have developed an online peer support platform called CommonGround to provide necessary intervention. Furthermore, the development of CommonGround followed a rigorous four-stage coproduction process. This method involved active collaboration between clinicians, software experts, and individuals with lived experience. Specifically, the team utilized focus groups to assess unmet psychosocial needs before moving into iterative design workshops. Therefore, the resulting prototype reflects the actual wants and needs of the target audience. During the validation stage, participants performed think-aloud exercises to identify navigation hurdles. Researchers then addressed these feature glitches to ensure the platform remained user-friendly and intuitive.
Moreover, results from the study emphasized that safety and trust are paramount for users. Participants stressed that a platform must feel secure to support the mental health of those with comorbidities. Additionally, content analysis confirmed that community forums and psychoeducational resources were highly acceptable to users. However, early testers noted that intuitive navigation is essential for sustained engagement. By integrating this feedback, the team finalized a platform that is now ready for clinical evaluation. Consequently, the CommonGround project serves as a model for future digital health interventions in multispecialty care.
