"Wherever the art of Medicine is loved, there is also a love of Humanity."
— Hippocrates

NSD1 is a histone methyltransferase that maintains EGR1 expression. This process is essential for forming the dentin matrix during both development and repair.
Upon injury, the expression of the NSD1-EGR1 axis increases rapidly. This induction facilitates the formation of reactionary dentin to shield the dental pulp from further damage.
While current research is in the laboratory stage, understanding this epigenetic axis provides a potential target for therapies aimed at stimulating natural tooth repair.
