The National Medical Commission (NMC) recently released a significant notification proposing amendments to the "Graduate Medical Education Regulations 2023." These draft regulations, titled "Graduate Medical Education (Amendment), Regulations 2026," introduce crucial changes concerning the MBBS Course Duration and the number of attempts permitted for the First Professional MBBS examination. Previously, the "Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023" stipulated that a student could not continue the undergraduate medical course after nine (09) years from the date of admission.
