Scaling Up the HPV Vaccination Campaign in Himachal

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu recently launched the statewide HPV vaccination campaign. This initiative targets 64,000 adolescent girls to prevent cervical cancer effectively. Consequently, the government aims to strengthen preventive healthcare across the entire state. Moreover, the focus remains on girls aged 13 to 14 years. The Health Department will implement this drive with support from local medical staff. Additionally, the government expects to complete this vaccination process within one year.

Advancing Cancer Care and Robotic Surgery

The Chief Minister emphasized that early detection significantly reduces cancer risks. Therefore, the state is investing Rs 3,000 crore into healthcare infrastructure improvements. Furthermore, five government medical colleges will soon introduce robotic surgery services for patients. For instance, IGMC Shimla will launch these advanced services on March 10. This technological upgrade places Himachal Pradesh among the leading states in public sector advanced surgery. Patients can now access high-quality medical services within the state boundaries.
