A review assessed the association b/w H pylori infection and risk of NAFLD in 28 studies with 68,047 NAFLD patients and 134,866 controls. Findings revealed that there was 27.5% increased risk of developing NAFLD in patients with H. pylori infection. Further, subgroup analysis also showed positive relationship b/w H. pylori infection & development of NAFLD. Thus, H. pylori is a risk factor in patients prone to NAFLD.
