"Wherever the art of Medicine is loved, there is also a love of Humanity."

The Ambuja Neotia Group recently announced a massive Guwahati healthcare project following government approval. This ambitious integrated development combines high-end medical services with premium hospitality at Fancy Bazar. Consequently, the group aims to transform the regional urban economy and strengthen medical access. This venture marks a significant expansion for the Kolkata-based conglomerate into the North-East.
The total investment for this dual-purpose facility will exceed Rs 700 crore. Of this, the group will allocate nearly Rs 400 crore specifically for a 300-bed multi-specialty hospital. Furthermore, the medical facility will occupy 1.46 acres of the total 2.88-acre land parcel. However, the hospitality component will reside on the remaining 1.42 acres. This strategic division ensures that both sectors receive adequate space for infrastructure and patient care.
The hospital will provide advanced tertiary care across multiple disciplines. For instance, patients can access specialized treatments in cardiology, neurology, and oncology. Additionally, the facility will include dedicated units for orthopedics and critical care. Therefore, residents of Assam and neighboring states will no longer need to travel long distances for complex procedures.
Beyond healthcare, the project promises significant economic benefits for the local community. The hospital alone expects to create between 1,500 and 2,000 direct jobs. Moreover, allied services and local businesses will likely see a surge in indirect employment. Parthiv Neotia, Joint Managing Director, emphasized that Guwahati serves as the gateway to the North-East. Thus, this development supports the city's role as a regional center for business and travel.
The integrated hotel will feature approximately 250 keys and extensive meeting facilities. This component aims to cater to medical tourists and business travelers alike. By merging healthcare with hospitality, Ambuja Neotia creates a comprehensive ecosystem for visitors. Previously, the group launched the Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Childcare Centre in 2025. This new project represents their second and much larger healthcare initiative in the state.
