Therefore, we need a shift toward quantifying these hidden costs of war.
Experts now propose a Global Conflict Accountability Mechanism to bridge this accountability gap. This framework aims to hold warring parties financially responsible for the specific health impacts they cause. Furthermore, quantifying the economic burden of chronic diseases and mental health disorders is essential for restorative justice. Additionally, researchers emphasize that the formal inclusion of health professionals in diplomacy and peacebuilding is no longer optional. It is a necessity for achieving long-term global stability.
