The research emphasizes the creation of an information model mapped to the HL7 FHIR R4 standard. Consequently, health professionals can now access a holistic view of the patient’s pregnancy journey. Furthermore, the researchers utilized user stories from primary care settings to ensure the model reflects real-world clinical requirements. By categorizing concepts into semantic pillars, the system supports a more personalized approach to prenatal monitoring. This structural maturity ensures that the right data reaches the right provider at the right time.
Moreover, the model adheres to ISO 13972:2022 standards for clinical information models. This ensures that the structural requirements for health informatics meet the needs of diverse care settings. Effective data sharing bridges the gap between different health professionals who work in complementary roles. As more practitioners adopt these standards, the risk of fragmented care decreases significantly.
