This systematic review and exploratory network meta-analysis evaluated randomized trials of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) in Parkinson’s disease, investigating whether medicines originally developed for metabolic disorders may also influence neurological outcomes. The review compared available agents using pairwise and network meta-analytic methods, with the goal of clarifying their relative efficacy and safety. The rationale is biologically plausible because GLP-1 signalling has been investigated for possible effects on neuroinflammation, cellular metabolism and neuronal survival. Nevertheless, trials of individual agents have produced differing results, and evidence of a potential mechanism does not necessarily translate into slower clinical progression. The authors emphasized that comparative efficacy remains uncertain and that larger, well-designed trials are required. This article is useful for reviewing the emerging neuroprotective-treatment landscape, but it should not be interpreted as evidence that GLP-1 RAs are established disease-modifying treatments for Parkinson’s disease.

A study in aged rats reveals that caloric restriction broadly upregulates adipose macrophage genes, whereas concurrent endurance training buffers this response. Despite these tissue-level transcriptional changes, systemic glycemic and lipid markers remain unchanged, highlighting the complexity of geriatric metabolism.

A multicenter study evaluates an XGBoost machine learning model to predict miscarriage risk in PCOS after fresh embryo transfer. While discrimination was strong internally, cross-cohort calibration drift emphasizes its role as a risk-ranking tool rather than a standalone diagnostic instrument.

A landmark study reveals structured variation in daily emotional experiences using mobile cardiac monitoring and machine learning. Uncovering a many-to-many mapping between autonomic states and feelings, this research offers key insights for managing psychosomatic and psychiatric conditions in clinical practice.

A recent study highlights that pairing photograph-assisted 24-hour recalls with regional food databases significantly boosts dietary assessment accuracy. This methodology reduces cultural bias and strengthens nutrient tracking, offering crucial lessons for clinicians managing nutritional care in diverse populations.
