Behçet's disease is a chronic systemic vasculitis known for persistent inflammation and endothelial dysfunction. The TyG index achieved an area under the curve of 0.706, suggesting it is a reliable tool for differentiating patients from healthy individuals. Moreover, the index remains stable regardless of current treatment modalities, making it a robust marker for long-term monitoring. Therefore, clinicians might consider using this index to assess cardiovascular and metabolic risks in the Behçet's population.
In conclusion, metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance are prevalent in patients with chronic inflammatory conditions. The TyG index provides a practical, accessible method for identifying these risks without the need for complex insulin assays. By monitoring this marker, healthcare providers can better manage the systemic complications associated with Behçet's disease.
