"Wherever the art of Medicine is loved, there is also a love of Humanity."
— Hippocrates

PANoptosis is a newly defined inflammatory cell death pathway that combines features of apoptosis, necroptosis, and pyroptosis. In NEC, this pathway drives the severe intestinal inflammation and tissue destruction characteristic of the disease, making its associated genes ideal candidates for biomarkers.
NFKBIA and PECAM1 are pivotal genes that regulate inflammatory responses and vascular integrity. Their identification as high-accuracy biomarkers (AUC 0.903) allows for more precise diagnosis of surgical NEC compared to traditional non-specific clinical markers like C-reactive protein.
