NMC Directs MBBS Seat Renewal Report: Deadline May 30, 2026

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a critical public notice regarding the submission of the NMC Annual Disclosure Report. Therefore, all existing medical colleges and institutions must adhere to this directive for the annual renewal of MBBS seats for the Academic Year 2026-27. Understanding the Mandatory NMC Annual Disclosure

All NMC-approved medical colleges holding a valid Letter of Permission (LoP) to conduct the MBBS course are required to submit their Annual Disclosure Report. This submission is mandated under Regulation 4 of the Maintenance of Standards of Medical Education Regulations, 2023 (MSMER 2023). Consequently, this report is essential for processing applications for the annual renewal of MBBS seats for the upcoming academic year. Furthermore, the NMC has clarified that the annual permission or renewal of seats will now be treated as recognition itself, eliminating the need for separate proposals.

Key Requirements and Submission Process

Colleges must note several crucial points for a successful submission. First, institutions not registered with AEBAS (Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System) will not access the NMC portal. Additionally, the NMC has already provided usernames and passwords to respective Nodal Officers. Colleges are strongly advised to consult the detailed User Manual available on the NMC portal for step-by-step guidance. Accurate and consistent information is paramount; therefore, ensure that data submitted aligns across all NMC Boards to avoid discrepancies. Submitted information cannot be edited post-submission and may also be made public by the NMC if deemed appropriate.

The application portal is accessible at application.nmc.org.in. All medical colleges must pay a fee of Rs. 3,54,000, which includes 18% GST. This payment must be made exclusively online through the portal's payment gateway. Importantly, other payment modes will not be accepted.

Strict Deadline: No Extensions Granted

The deadline for submitting the Annual Disclosure Report, along with the applicable fee, including GST, on the NMC portal is May 30, 2026. No extensions will be granted beyond this date. Consequently, timely submission is vital for the smooth processing of MBBS seat renewals.
