Thus, clinical awareness regarding substance use during the first trimester is more critical than ever before.
Healthcare providers should prioritize detailed prenatal screening for substance exposure. Because the study meets epidemiological causal criteria, clinicians must counsel patients on the potential cardiac risks of cannabis. Additionally, targeted awareness campaigns might help mitigate these risks in high-risk ethnic groups. Although the study focuses on the USA, the biological implications regarding cannabinoid genotoxicity remain relevant globally. Consequently, improving patient education on fetal outcomes is a necessary step for preventing congenital malformations.
