A recent retrospective analysis by Parsegian K and colleagues highlights how demographic variables like age and sex significantly influence the severity of oral health issues. This study extracted electronic health record data from an institutional database to evaluate independent associations.
The researchers utilized multinomial logistic regression to analyze the data. Consequently, they identified clear associations between patient demographics and the progression of periodontal disease. Moreover, the results demonstrated that older individuals are more susceptible to severe attachment loss and pocketing.
