Researchers examined 13,082 college students to investigate the relationship between lipid profiles and obesity. The prevalence of obesity with dyslipidemia was 61.0% in males and 38.7% in females, with low HDL-C being the most common abnormality. Atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) showed the strongest association with obesity. These findings suggest AIP may serve as a useful biomarker for early obesity prediction in young adults.
