Moreover, this approach fosters interprofessional collaboration, which is essential in modern clinical environments. A key highlight of the program is the experiential quality improvement (QI) project. During their final year, all students participate in workplace-based projects. These projects allow them to address actual clinical challenges. Interestingly, over 93% of surveyed students rated the course as "Good" or "Excellent." Furthermore, the hands-on experience builds confidence in driving system-wide changes after graduation.
Medical educators worldwide are now recognizing the importance of health systems science. In India, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has introduced competency-based medical education that aligns with these global trends. Specifically, the focus on creating "physicians of first contact" requires deep knowledge of health systems.
