This art-based approach aims to help individuals, particularly those with high sensory processing sensitivity (SPS), to improve their psychological resilience and overall well-being.
Approximately 20% of the population possesses a trait known as Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS). This heritable characteristic involves deeper cognitive processing of physical, social, and emotional stimuli. While high SPS often links to increased psychological distress, these individuals also respond more positively to supportive environments. Consequently, targeted interventions like the ABBA-Vention can yield significant benefits for this subgroup. Furthermore, cultivating an aesthetic mindset may help bridge the gap between high sensitivity and improved mental health.
The ABBA-Vention study is a randomized controlled trial (RCT) designed to test the efficacy of specialized art-based training.
