This meta-analysis of eight cohorts (4,916 patients) investigated the impact of age and sex on progression in low-risk papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) under active surveillance. Older adults (aged >30-50 years) had a significantly lower pooled risk ratio for tumor progression (0.58, 95% CI: 0.47-0.71) compared to younger individuals. No significant difference in tumor progression risk was observed between male and female patients.
