In this study of 478 T1bN1 papillary thyroid carcinoma patients, surgical delays up to and beyond one year did not significantly affect short-term tumor metastasis or complication rates. Patients were stratified by timing of surgery, with no statistically significant differences found across delay groups. These findings suggest that moderate surgical delays may not compromise short-term outcomes in early-stage PTC.
