P. D. Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Dr Homi Bhabha State University (HBSU) to jointly offer postgraduate allied health courses. Consequently, this strategic educational alliance will help bridge India's critical healthcare manpower gap. The healthcare sector currently faces a shortage of about four million trained paramedical professionals.
Additionally, this partnership builds upon Hinduja Hospital's decade-long experience in offering skill-based paramedic education in collaboration with the Lifesupporters Institute of Health Sciences (LIHS). However, the new joint venture with HBSU will significantly scale these efforts. Specifically, the academic collaboration will start in August with a structured intake of 20 to 30 students per course.
Therefore, to address highly specialized clinical needs, the institutions will offer postgraduate certificate programs. These programs include training for Pathology, Dialysis, and Operation Theatre (OT) technicians. Furthermore, students can specialize as Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Radiology, and Neurology technicians. In addition, Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) and Endoscopy technician courses are available. Ultimately, graduates will gain practical expertise to deliver safe and high-quality patient care.
