This meta-analysis of six trials (n= 563) assessed hormonal treatments (HTs) for adenomyosis-associated pelvic pain (AAPP). Dienogest was more effective than placebo or levonorgestrel-based intrauterine system LNG-IUS at 3 months, and more effective than combined oral contraceptives or LNG-IUS at 6 months. While dienogest is the most effective treatment, it is associated with more adverse effects than other hormonal therapies.
