This hospital-based randomized controlled trial evaluated whether dynamic MRI (dMRI) improves surgical planning and outcomes in patients with degenerative cervical myelopathy compared with conventional static MRI. Seventy-four patients were assessed at three months. The mean recovery rate was significantly higher in the dMRI group than in the static MRI group (55.42% ± 29.05% vs 46.76% ± 29.51%; P = 0.044). Recovery of at least 50% was achieved by 91.9% of patients in the dMRI group compared with 59.4% in the static MRI group (P = 0.002). The postoperative modified Japanese Orthopaedic Association score was also higher with dMRI-guided planning (15.47 vs 13.77; P = 0.007). Dynamic MRI changed the planned surgical approach in 59.5% of cases. The difference in Nurick grade improvement was not statistically significant. Conclusion: Dynamic MRI may improve identification of clinically important cord compression and short-term postoperative recovery, although larger studies with longer follow-up are needed to establish its impact on long-term outcomes.

New research reveals that non-ablative radiotherapy suppresses ventricular tachycardia by increasing conduction velocity via NaV1.5 upregulation and action potential prolongation. However, sustained sodium current elevation and depressed calcium handling highlight the need for careful clinical translation.
