Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu recently laid the foundation stone for a brand new 50-bed integrated AYUSH hospital. This facility is coming up in Dharamshala, Kangra district. The state government wants to strengthen regional healthcare by combining modern medical treatments with traditional therapies. Consequently, this initiative will provide local citizens with easier access to holistic healthcare under AYUSH systems.
The state will construct this new facility within the existing District Ayurvedic Hospital premises in Dharamshala. Importantly, the government has allocated Rs 15.28 crore for this comprehensive project. Consequently, residents will not need to travel long distances for alternative therapies. The upcoming integrated AYUSH hospital will offer traditional treatments, including Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, and Homeopathy, under one roof. Moreover, this approach aligns with the national goal of mainstreaming traditional Indian medicine. Therefore, patients will benefit from a more comprehensive and holistic healing environment.
Alongside the medical facility, the Chief Minister also inaugurated a shopping complex and entertainment centre at Charan. Dharamshala Smart City Limited developed this project at a cost of Rs 7.50 crore. Additionally, the new commercial centre aims to provide local residents with shopping and essential day-to-day services. Furthermore, this initiative will increase footfall in Dharamshala.
