The National Medical Commission (NMC) recently announced a critical extension for the submission of the NMC Annual Disclosure Deadline. Therefore, all existing medical colleges and institutions seeking annual renewal of MBBS seats for the academic year 2026-27 now have until June 10, 2026, to submit their Annual Disclosure Report. This extension offers a vital reprieve for institutions experiencing technical issues or other difficulties in meeting the original deadline.
Initially, the deadline for submitting the Annual Disclosure Report was May 30, 2026. Consequently, many medical colleges were working diligently to comply with this stringent timeline. This report is mandatory under Regulation 4 of the Maintenance of Standards of Medical Education Regulations, 2023 (MSMER 2023). The submission process is essential for the annual renewal of MBBS seats, ensuring adherence to national medical education standards. Previously, the NMC had clearly stated that it would grant no extensions.
The Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) of the NMC issued this public notice on May 30, 2026. This notice specifically references an earlier public notice dated May 13, 2026, which outlined the initial requirements. The decision to extend the NMC Annual Disclosure Deadline stems from observations that many colleges had yet to submit their reports. Furthermore, several institutions reported technical issues and requested additional time. This extension to June 10, 2026, is a final opportunity; therefore, the NMC will not provide any further extensions under any circumstances.
Medical colleges must access the official NMC Portal at https://application.nmc.org.in/ for submission. It is crucial that institutions not registered with AEBAS (Aadhaar-Enabled Biometric Attendance System) for NMC will be unable to access the portal. Additionally, the NMC has provided a detailed user manual on the portal to guide institutions through the process. All submitted information must be accurate and consistent, with no discrepancies across different NMC Boards. Once colleges submit the information, they cannot edit it.
Moreover, the required fee for submission is Rs. 3,54,000, inclusive of 18% GST. Colleges must pay this fee exclusively online through the portal's payment gateway. The NMC does not accept other payment modes. Therefore, colleges should prepare all necessary documents and fees well in advance of the new deadline.
