Gamification is significantly reshaping military trauma care education by integrating interactive elements into clinical simulations. A new systematic review by Stathakarou and colleagues analyzed forty-two studies to determine how specific game mechanics influence training outcomes. For instance, while scoring and time pressure are common, competitive elements like leaderboards are rarely used in this field. Educators must focus on how these tools provide immediate feedback. In addition, future research should investigate which specific combinations of game mechanics yield the best retention for trauma management skills.
